When MTV Generation Award honoree Sandra Bullock hit the stage to accept her award, she and presenter Scarlett Johansson — on hand as a proxy of sorts for her hubby and Bullock's "The Proposal" co-star Ryan Reynolds — decided to kiss, surprising everyone with a reenactment of Bullock's lip-lock with Meryl Streep at the Critics' Choice Movie Awards earlier this year.

So, was Bullock's "The Proposal" co-star Betty White, who was also onstage to pay tribute, jealous that she wasn't the one locking lips?

"No! To each his own!" White told MTV News, when we caught up with her backstage at the Gibson Amphitheatre. "Anywhere you're near Sandra Bullock, you're in good shape!"

Last year on the first weekend of June, "The Hangover" shocked Hollywood with a $41-million opening, one of the biggest ever for an R-rated comedy.

This year the R-rated "Get Him to the Greek" and PG-13 "Killers" are both hoping for some of the same mojo, with the former expected to attract more men and the latter more women.

While neither has a good shot at matching "The Hangover," both are on track for decent openings of between $15 million and $20 million. They will most likely open behind "Shrek Forever After" on its third weekend, said people who have seen pre-release surveys of potential moviegoers.

As SpaceX prepares for Friday’s maiden launch of its Falcon 9 rocket, the company’s founder says he feels as if he’s about to play Russian roulette in a scene from the movie “The Deer Hunter” … but with a slightly smaller chance of success.

t seems as if every week another major company announce a recall, this week is no different as we are hearing that McDonald’s are recalling 12 million Shrek glasses due to contamination concerns.

It is thought that the Shrek-themed glasses recalled feature a painted design, apparently this painted design contains traces of Cadmium, long-term exposure to Cadmium has previously been linked to kidney problems and bone softening.

Cyclone Phet takes aim at Oman, Pakistan on alert

Tropical Cyclone Phet roared toward the coast of Oman and was expected to make landfall late on Thursday at the earliest before barreling toward the oil-exporting Gulf Arab state's LNG facilities.

But Phet, a Category 4 storm with winds of over 130 mph, would weaken substantially before brushing Oman's sparsely populated southeast coastline, according to storm risk forecasts shown on website www.tropicalstormrisk.com.

"It will hit the land at the eastern region by first entering Masirah (Island) around 2200 (local time) tonight," Ahmed Al Harthy, a senior Omani meteorological official told Reuters. "The storm will be felt, though less severe, all the way to Muscat on Friday."

Maytag dishwasher recall: 1.7 million deemed fire hazard

Maytag Corp. issued a recall of 1.7 million dishwashers sold under the Maytag, Amana, Jenn-Air, Admiral, Magic Chef, Performa by Maytag and Crosley brands after reports of fires starting due to electrical problems with the heating element, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said.

All the recalled dishwashers have plastic interiors and were sold nationwide between February 2006 through April 2010 for between $250 and $900. They came in either black, bisque, white, silver or stainless steel front panels.

"I'd like to thank my family for all of the sacrifices they have made all of these years for me. Armando Galarraga came within one out of a perfect game Wednesday night, deprived of the milestone on a call the first base umpire says he got wrong.

The 28-year-old right-hander from Venezuela, making his third start of the season, beat the Cleveland Indians 3-0 and lost the bid when umpire Jim Joyce ruled Jason Donald safe on an infield hit. Galarraga received a throw from first baseman Miguel Cabrera, who had fielded Donald's grounder between first and second base.

A blown call by first base umpire Jim Joyce cost Detroit Tigers pitcher Armando Galarraga a perfect game.

Galarraga set down 26 straight Indians Wednesday night and stood one out away from the third perfect game of 2010 when he got shortstop Jason Donald to ground a slow roller to first baseman Miguel Cabrera. Galarraga rushed to cover first, received the throw from Cabrera and touched the bag.

Joyce called Donald safe, but video replays clearly showed Galarraga had beaten Donald to the bag.

A full-time umpire since 1989, Joyce admitted his mistake after the game.

"I just cost that kid a perfect game," he said. "I thought he beat the throw. I was convinced he beat the throw, until I saw the replay.

"It was the biggest call of my career."

Andrew Koppel, Son of Veteran Broadcaster, Found Dead

Tragedy has struck the family of veteran journalist Ted Koppel.

The broadcaster's 40-year old son, Andrew Koppel, was found dead early this morning in New York City.

An attorney for the city Housing Authority, Andrew was discovered in a Washington Heights apartment, where he was brought earlier in the evening by Russell Wimberly, a waiter he had met at a Hell's Kitchen bar on Monday afternoon.

Koppel "was just really messed up when he came in. He was very drunk," Belinda Caban, a resident of the apartment building, told The New York Post.

Caban said she and Wimberly called 911 after they found Andrew Koppel had urinated and defecated in the bed he passed out in. Medical personal announced him dead at the scene.

Deadline extended in contract negotiations between Alcoa, United Steelworkers

NEW YORK — Aluminum giant Alcoa Inc. and its largest union have extended their deadline to negotiate a new contract covering thousands of employees.

The Pittsburgh-based company and the United Steelworkers Union are negotiating over compensation for new workers, health care benefits and work flexibility.

Negotiations began in mid-April. The current contract was to have expired at 1 a.m. Monday, but the parties agreed to an 11-hour extension.

The contract covers about 5,400 employees at 10 plants. The plants produce raw aluminum that is used in products such as beverage cans, cars and planes.

Guatemala Sinkhole Is MASSIVE, Swallows Building

GUATEMALA CITY - Torrential rains brought by the first tropical storm of the 2010 season pounded Central America and southern Mexico, triggering deadly landslides. The death toll stood at 15 Sunday but authorities said the number could rise.

Tropical Storm Agatha made landfall near the border of Guatemala and Mexico on Saturday with wind speeds of up to 45 mph (75 kph), then weakened into a tropical depression before dissipating over the mountains of western Guatemala.

Although no longer even a tropical depression, Agatha still posed trouble for the region: Remnants of the storm were expected to deliver 10 to 20 inches (25 to 50 centimeters) of rain over southeastern Mexico, Guatemala and parts of El Salvador, creating the possibility of "life-threatening flash floods and mudslides," the U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami said in an advisory Sunday.
